What I Wore Tuesday: Week 8

Shirt: Nike, from Dick's Sporting Goods a few years ago

Undershirt: Nike ... probably 8 + years old so I have no idea where it is from!  It is a classic, baseball tee though that I LOVE.

Pants: Adidas, from TJMaxx.

So... Am I at Home or in the Office today?

Office!

We are in the middle of Associate Giving Campaign so we have special activities and dress up days.

Today is atheltic attire day....

Right up my alley!

(Side note, I AM giving money each pay period to American Heart Association for my Grandpa Kozlen, Aunt Diana, and fear of heart disease attacking any one else I love!)

Dressing like this earned me tickets to win things at the end of the week.

You would think I would be having an awesome day today...

You know, I am in sweats, at work...

But one email and 5 simple words sent me into a depressed funk.

"Does Not Meet Minimal Requirements"

That would be my grade on my Interim Assessment.

Yep, have to do it again...

Shoot me now!

This whole process of becoming an actuary is such a rollercoaster! 

Grades making us CRAY-ZEE!

A passing grade gives you the most incredible high.

Yet a failing grade makes you want to do the big ugly cry.

Because I was at work and could not have an acoholic beverage to drown my sorrows, I went and got a soda.

Seriously!? 

I havent had soda in months!

Beer in T-minus 1.5 hours.

And then...

Interim Assessment I WILL conquer you!!!!

Body After Baby: Week 22

I seriously almost forgot to do this post today...

I lost another 2.2 lbs this past week...

I'll take it.

I had a pretty good week running.

Ran 7 miles today at a steady 10 minute pace.

Furthest run so far and it felt awesome.

I am hoping to get a few other long runs in this week..

Next week is the big family race...

I CANNOT believe Thanksgiving is next week!

OMG!

I also signed up for my December 5k...

Santa North Pole Dash December 8th.

Running in a Santa hat, gloves, and BEARD should be a good time!

Some people from work are running it.

Mel & hopefully Holly are doing it as well...

And maybe some ladies from my new running club.

And just for fun...

The right was taken this past Saturday morning before I headed out to meet up with some fabulous ladies to run...

2 months and a 20 lbs difference.

Sisterly Love

I forgot to mention that in Emily's 5th month she had another first...

A first injury from her sister.

The other night we were all sitting and eating dinner...

Leah next to Emily in the high chair because she always insists on it.

And the next thing we know Emily is screaming bloody murder.

Leah admits she bit her hand!

And she did it hard enough to break the skin!!

We have no idea why...

I sometimes nibble on her hands and feet when I play with her and my guess is that Leah was trying to do the same?

It earned Leah a time out and a talking about how we dont bite!

Otherwise...

They are great together!

Totally unprompted cuddling.  Leah just wanted to help her practice sitting. 

5 Month

A few days ago my baby turned 5 months old.

This past month has been an exciting one.

She tried cereal and baby food for the first time...

Not a big fan.

Her first sickness.

First doctors visit without a check up.

First antibiotics.

First time missing school.

Learning to sit!

Becoming a jumping fool in her jumperoo!

& Mommy realizing she is ticklish around her rib cage and thighs.

She still does not really giggle...

She has a super big grin on her face, breaths funny, and makes funny noises.

I honestly am not sure if she does not yet know how to laugh, or if she will be one of those people with a really weird laugh...

The verdict is still out.

And she recently returned to sleeping thru the night!

I thought it all went fast with Leah, but it seems to be going in super speed with Emily!

"Whoa!"

Body After Baby: Week 21

Well this week marked me reaching what I guess we could call my "goal" weight.  

A 1.2 lb loss this week. 

Hey, it was Halloween week and we had a weekend full of pizza and diary queen. 

I officially am at a BMI of under 25. 

Just call me "Healthy"!

 Here is a fun little comparison... 

A 27 lb difference! 

... in 13.5 weeks. 

The really sad thing was that I thought I was starting to look OK on the left!  

Yikes! 

Lets not go back to that place unless there is a human living inside of me!

Other highlights of the week... 

A neighbor friend invited me to the Eureka Ladies Running Club. 

I am so glad she thought of inviting me because I LOVED it! 

Saturday morning we met at 7 am, (cold!) for a little 3.5 mile run. 

I did not use my phone to map it. 

Or listen to music. 

We just chatted the entire run...

Walked a little because 1 girl needed a break so we all walked with her...

But made the run in probably 40 minutes. 

It was the easiest 3.5 mile run of my life! 

Having people to run with was AWESOME! 

I cant wait to meet up again next week! 

And every Saturday morning actually! 

With the help of the time change I was eager to get a nice run in this morning before starting work. 

I sent the kiddos off with Brian. 

Drank my coffee. 

Had a yogurt. 

Got dressed, 

Then I looked outside and noticed the rain! 

Grrrrr! 

I am all for running in the rain, but not when its only 40 degrees outside. 

I checked weather.com and there looks to be a 1 hr break in the rain at 9am. 

I am meeting with my boss at 9 am. 

Another Grrr! 

Hopefully I can get out there today!

My legs are itching to get moving! 

Come on weather, Cooperate!
