4 Months

In a blink of an eye Emily Robin turned 4 months old this past weekend.

She is getting cuter by the day and growing fast!

Loving her toys and jumperoo.

She wishes she could sit up!

Check up went great.

Released to start solids but I honestly am not in a big hurry for it.

Solids are a hassle.

A MESS.

I was so anxious to get to them with Leah as a first time mom that we started them a few days after her 4 month birthday.

Emily is a different story.

I know better.

The excitement is short lived.

In the world of statistics...

Length: 26 inches = 95th percentile
Weight: 15 lbs 12 oz = 76th percentile
Head: 6th percentile

My little headed baby girl....

Again, she has always had a little head so they are not concerned at all.

For comparison sake, Leah's 4 month stats:

Length: 26 3/4 inches = 98th percentile
Weight: 15 lbs 13 oz = 76th percentile
Head: 50th percentile

Weight wise they are very comparable but Em is still a little shorter.

I am so curious to see the girls together and how they compare in 2, 5, 10, 20 years...

What I Wore Tuesday: Week 3

Sweatshirt: Alpine Design - Gift from my in-laws for Christmas a few years ago.
Shirt: REI - Awesome dry fit shirt that was also a gift for my birthday from my brother and sister n law.
Jeans: Banana Republic
Shoes: Asics

Surprise!  I am working from home today... although I could certainly wear this to work if I wanted.

My office is very causal.  I just usually prefer to actually get dressed more when I head to the office.

Emily has her 4 month check up this afternoon and I have a dentist appointment so there was no point in driving 30 miles into the office.

Typically my work at home attire resembles this but sweatpants instead of jeans...

But since I would be seeing others today I figured jeans were appropriate.

Body After Baby: Week 17

First off...

Down another 2.2lbs.

I ran two 5 mile runs this week at a pace of 10:30 or lower.

Once on the treadmill, once on land.

And twice I ran 5Ks at 9:15 minute paces (well under 30 minutes!) ...

But they were both on the treadmill.

This Saturday is my next 5k and you can bet your butt I am going to be under 30 minutes!

I have new motivation...

A heavy competition is brewing between my brother and I.

I had mentioned before that my family plans to run a 5k at Thanksgiving...

My sister n law told my brother yesterday how I ran 5 miles Saturday.

So my brother had to head out and run 5 miles.

And then he beat my pace by a minute!

Then we chatted on the phone and he was asking me questions about my training...

Am I running sprints?

Doing barefoot work?

He's nuts!

He rides his bike to work, is very active and is in pretty good shape...

This picture cracks me up!

But this is also him....

I WANT TO BEAT MY BROTHER!

And I have about 6 more weeks to do it!

You can read his blog HERE where he discusses our future race.

Sunday Funday

The weather has been perfect lately so we had to head to the zoo for some quality family time!

My sister n law and niece joined us as they needed to get out of the house while the hubby/daddy worked on the deck.
Emily's first visit!  She barely made a peep the entire 5 hrs we were there!

Most of the time she spent passed out like this..

Leah was a crazy thing that wanted to jump and skip constantly. It looked exhausting! ... yet she only napped for the 30 minute car drive home!

Im not sure why I lean over so much... I guess Leah is getting so big (41 lbs!) that I really need to stick that hip out to hold her up.

Yeah, we spent alot of time watching the elephant family... so cute!

And this is where I died.... Leah jumped up on this rock, asked to have her picture taken, and then posed like this!  Little model diva working her angles!

A nice new family picture...

We thought it would be cute to have the girls take pictures together with the pumpkins. (It was Oktoberfest at the zoo.  Brian was excited bc he could get a braut for lunch.) But this is how it turned out... almost 2 and almost 3 year olds are difficult.

Leah and Jenna are totally BFFs.  Cant wait till Em gets older and can hang out with them.  Leah and Em are 2 years apart in school, with Jenna right in between them.
