First things first…
Down 0.4.
…
In November I participated in “Pile on the Miles” where you were to choose a goal of miles to run and attempt to reach that goal…
I wanted to run 75 miles.
I came in at 68.87.
Boo!
But I am curious…
A few runs with the running club, I used my phone to track the distance at the same time as others used their watchers or phones…
I always showed a shorter mileage, by almost ½ a mile at times…
And slower pace…
Duh… same time + shorter distance = slower pace.
That ancient phone of mine!
It made me start thinking that maybe every run I was doing I really was going further and faster…
It would make a whole lot more sense as to why I was able to run a 5k at a 8:48 pace when I swear I rarely get below 9:30 on my usual runs…
Now every run I feel is a lie!
A Garmin watch is turning into a MUST.
Especially since my brother is beginning a new December challenge…
What can I say? We like to set goals and compete.
He is planning on running 100 miles in December.
As he said “it’s only a 5k a day!”.
True…
Only 30 minutes of exercise.
But I did not even reach my goal of 75 miles in November…
I am already off to a good start.
The first 2 days of December I already ran 10 miles…
I think…
That is 10% done already!
So why not try?
It would put me in a great routine for when I officially begin half marathon training next month.
So… wanna do it with us!?
I'll be completely impressed if you do it!
ReplyDeleteYep a Garmin is on my list too.
