Toddler Summer... Im Ready For You!

I am so excited for summer and envision lots of visits to the park, the zoo, the ballpark, anywhere fun....and in general, chasing around Miss Independent while trying to look like a cool and collected momma.  

I thought a new, cross-body bag, would be the perfect accessory for a mom on the go this summer! 

I wanted something fun, but not too small....

And found the perfect Fossil fit.

And I even got the matching wallet (which can easily tag along to the beach or pool)

And this adorable keychain  (but in Blue and Pink)

I sort of splurged... but I have not bought a purse in years! (I am extremely spoiled by my mother who often randomly buys me fabulous purses, or gives me her handy down Fossil bags)  I thought I was due the chance to buy a great new bag..... And give me 25% off if I spend 100 dollars.... SURE! 

The catch was it was a pre-sale and I actually have to pick to pick up my purchases on Thursday... strange... but whatever!! 

Ill be darn cute come Thursday!

This Summer will be AWESOME!

I have introduced the Sprinkler.

Leat LOVES it!  

 I am so glad that she is not afraid of the water!   She will run up to it, get sprayed in the face, run away laughing, and come back for me!

 I cant wait to take her to those kiddie pools where there is the playground in the water.   She will think its heaven on earth!

 And then Floriday next month!! Cant you just imagine this picture, but the beach in the background, playing in the waves?!

She is going to L-O-V-E summer!

Busting out the bikes

Its Spring time.

 We are ready to come out of hybernation, and starting getting active.  

A few weeks ago we took Leah for a bike ride.

She LOVED it.

 Brian and I realized how our of shape we are.

We only made 1 trip around Creve Couer Lake... maybe some day we can do 2.  

Thats the new goal.

Disappearing Baby. Where'd her body go!? Maybe this is how magicians do it?

I just picked Leah up from daycare where she was visiting the older classroom in preparation to move up in the next few weeks...

There were kids drinking out of regular, grown up cups!

And TALKING about how everyone has a mom and dad!

My baby is not ready for this!!!

Momma is not really ready for this....

18 months next week...

Soon driving, off to college, and married...

Update

Leah has an ear infection.... Poor thing!

Today was the worst day yet.... SOOOO sleepy all day.... just crying constantly, and wanting to be held....

Lets hope the meds kick in SOON!

I need my happy littler girl back!

Celebrating Motherhood

My exam is Thursday.

This weekend was supposed to be filled with studying.

Yes, it is Mother's day weekend, but passing my exam is my number one priority at the moment... or so I thought.

At 10:45 Friday night, 20 minutes after I had went to bed, Leah woke up crying, burning up, with a fever of 102.4.  She just wanted to be held, and I just wanted to take care of her. I brought her into Brian and I's bed, something I RARELY do.  We have gotten rid of our rocker (we had a cheap one, the arms fell off, we threw it away.   We plan to get a super nice lazy boy for the next baby) and the bed seemed like the only logical, comfortable place to comfort my sick baby.

Laying in the crowded bed... Brian, Leah, 2 cats, and me... Leah snuggled into my chest.... I realized THIS IS MOTHERHOOD.

Very little studying was done Saturday, but plenty of mothering took its place.   Lots of cuddling, multiple doses of ibuprofen, continual nose wiping, encouraging her to eat or drink anything possible,even if she only ate fruit snacks and I ran out to get her a smoothie AND a slushie (she had about 5 sips total)..just taking care of my baby girl.

Saturday night was spent with more cuddling in bed, and trying to lower a fever of 103.7.

Leah is my priority, and I dont think I could feel anymore like a mom this Mother's Day weekend.

Being a mom is my number one priority, and the best job in the world.

*** if she spikes another fever tonight, we are headed to the Dr. first thing in the morning....

New Kicks

Leah's size 7s where giving her blisters on her big toes...

I new she needed new shoes.   Maybe wides?

But I never imagined at almost 18 months she would be a size 8 extra wide!  

Holy Monster feet!!

Just look how grown up these are!

Id totally wear them!

Only 23 dollars at stride rite too!!

I guess no more baby shoes for Leah!

Oh and for daycare she needs non-open toed sandals (no crocs).... they barely make closed toed sandals in size 8 extra wide.... I need to do some hunting!
