Day 2

Jacket wearing went a little better!

At first she tried to take it off...

But then gave up.... and sat looking cute as a button!

Isn't this jacket adorable too?  Its baby gap from last year... my Aunt and cousin sent it to us when Leah was born and she finally fits into it!!   When we got it, Size 12-18 months sounded SOOO big... and here she is 6.5 weeks away from turning 1.

Leah finally clapped yesterday!!!

Her sheet from school said they worked on clapping, so when we got home, I practiced with her.

She was a crabby thing, (lack of napping) but finally did it!!!

I am so proud of my little one!

Last time we were at the doctor, clapping was the one thing we couldn't proudly say Leah could do... but now we can cross it off  the list!

Next is high fives and then onto reading! :)

I love coats... why doesn't she?!

The mornings are getting pretty chilly, so I couldnt look like a deliquent mom when I dropped Leah off at daycare yesterday... I had to put her in a jacket!

She hated it....
And then just kept sticking her arms up at me!

I LOVE jackets and coats... I have a ridiculous number of them.  Leah even already has 4 coats... Hopefully someday she will appreciate them as well!

When my sister was little, my parents had to put her jackets on her backwards because she would always take them off as soon as it was put on her.   She always had a hood in her front, and a zipper up her back.   Lets hope we dont ever have to come to this....

Big Hit!

As we are FINALLY recovering from  our vomit-poloza (Leah and I have both choked down a mini meal... and we have now passed it on to my parents... it seemes to be going around!) I was reading a few fellow mommy blogs online yesterday and read about a homemade ballpit.
I thought Leah would love it... she loves balls, and having an area to play with 150 of them.... why not!?

All we needed was a clearance kiddie pool.... 3.24 at Target!
She was excited just for the pool!! I love the fish! ha!  And look at her crazy face! Her bow was falling off from her bouncing up and down in excitement!

And just add a bag of 150 balls (15.00 at Target as well)

She currently has been playing for the last hour by herself... throwing the balls in and out of the pool... climbing in and out...

We threw a cat in... they like watching her, but not being inside it.... This is great since I do not want them popping it!

I think it will be a big hit at Leah's bday part with all the little ones too!  Totally awesome toy under 20 dollars!

No Car Sickness here...

Nope...

Its just sick.

At 4 AM Leah woke up after puking all over her bed and herself!

I dont know which is worse... cleaning up the car, or clearning up the room at 4 in the morning.

I now also feel like I could blow chuncks everywhere.... there is some sort of bug in our house!

Lets hope this house gets healthy quickly!

I heart Fall!

I love the temps, the clothes, the smell in the air, apple crisp, pumpkin beer, afternoons at the park, visits to the pumpkin patch, and halloween!

And I really love the decor!   It just matches our house decor so well! I would keep these items out year around if people didn't think I was crazy!

Vomit

Seriously.

We quickly fed Leah some yoguart, gave her a sippy cup full of apple juice, and threw her in the car.

It was a cool morning on our way to our nephew Dominic's football game.   We did not have the air on as Brian and I felt pretty comfortable.

We were almost there when Leah started to whine...

I looked back to see projectile vomiting all over the backseat!!!!

I immediately unbuckled and crawled into the backseat, only to watch Leah vomit 2 more times ALL OVER HERSELF!

Dom's game was in Festus, almost an hour from our house, so we went straight to Walmart to buy Leah some new clothes.

We cleaned up the car as much as possible, using all of our baby wipes.... but the car still stinks.

We majorly disinfected when we got home... taking off the cover of her carseat to wash is a pain in the butt!

After she puked, she was talking up a storm... feeling great.   She was fine the rest of the day as well.

We guess it was just her getting hot, with a full belly, and got car sick!

I can't wait till we can flip her car seat around! I do not want to go thru this again!!!

Ick Ick Ick!

To get this digusting picture of our baby girl out of your head.... I leave you with a sneak peak of Miss Leah''s Halloween Costume!

tired and exhausted

I hurt.... and its not in a "I had a good work-out" way.

I hurt in a "I dove on my knees one too many times without knee pads and my forearms ache from hard hit balls."

My body is not used to this.

Volleyball last night was fun, but exhausting. 2 hours might be a little much, not to mention there are only 6 people in our class and we played 3 on 3 THE WHOLE TIME!

We are an interesting bunch....

Jessica and I had a great time and might have goofed around a little bit. She will always be my baby sister and I need to pick on her alittle bit. We are definitely the youngest as well.

There is a fellow who is probably my age or a little older that is AWESOME. He definitely played in college and is the main reason why my body hurts. By the end of the night my arms could not take another hit and after her served to me and I literally cried out in pain, I announced that I was done for the night.

There is an older woman who is competitive but not necessarily very good.

Another fellow who is not very good at all, but has a 3 week old baby at home and said he just needed sometime out of the house. I can understand that!

And then there is our "instructor" who is 53, and GOOD!

I am also exhausted from sleep deprivation....

I got home at 10:15, showered, in bed by 10:30, but my body was unable to calm down. I think I fell asleep around 11, only to be woken up at 1130 by a teething cranky baby. She again woke me up at 3:30, 4:30, and 5:15!!

My body hurts and I am tired...

Hopefully every Thursday is not this miserable!!

I believe...

.. coffee is the only way I get thru work each day, but for some reason I can go without it on the weekends.

... something might be wrong with me. I would happily study and do math problems all day long. It calms me and clears my head.

... I need a cardigan in every color possible. They are my favorite peice of clothing. I love them even more when they have beading or ruffles!

... children change your life more than you could ever imagine.

... no one is perfect and neither is life. I need to accept the imperfections rather than stress over them. Life never goes as your planned.

... my wedding rings ARE perfect though. Good thing I think this since I will be wearing them for the rest of my life! I look forward to another annivesary band though. For our 5th anniversary? Please!?

... Fall is fabulous!

... having a husband and daughter that love me is the only thing that matters. Ok... and the rest of our family!

... Brown Family Thanksgivings are the BEST! I cant wait till this year's in Memphis!! I have missed them and cant wait to see everyone!

... it can be a struggle to stay friends with someone who is in a totally different stage in their life. Sometimes you just need to hear "I know how you feel, it will be ok!".

... I need to start Christmas shopping! Brian has us on a tight budget each month and we did not budget in Christmas!

... taking care of yourself is an important part of being a good parent.

... John Mayer is wonderful! I could listen to him for hours.

... There is a fine line between planning for the future and living for today. Currently I cant decide which side I want to be on.

... I am ready for retiremen

Aren't we a little young for this?

Oh and she discovered doorknobs!!!

Playing with the Big Kids

Today was Leah's first day in the Starfish room!

It wore her out!!

She napped ok... ate her food, and drank all of her bottles.... but I guess she was a little overwhelmed with the activities.

She read "A House is a House for Me" and pointed to the house pictures. Their goal was to relate words to the objects.

She put a simple puzzle together.

They created with glue, foam diamonds, and "C"s on paper.

They picked up small blocks and tried to stack them.

They worked on the sign for "Thank you"

And they explored diamond shaped sandpaper.

..... Can you tell their theme is diamonds, the letter "C" and houses.

Her sheet also said she loved playing outside and coloring with markers! Markers!? I still have an infant dont I?!

Oh and I almost forgot..... she got BIT!!

Her incident report said "She was playing with a friend when her friend bit her right hand."

I know this happens alot with kids... they bite... but hours latre, you can still see the teeth marks!! It had to hurt her! Its hard to see them in the picture below because lets face it, its hard to take a picture of a baby's hand, but they are there!!

My poor baby! I should also mention she cried alot today... there is a kitchen area that connects her new room with her old room, well the kids can see the teachers in there. Everytime her old teacher, Miss Jenn, would come into the kitchen Leah would spot her and cry and cry wanting Miss Jenn to pick her up.

All evening you could tell she was worn out... she just cuddled and headed to bed early.

Lets hope it gets easier!

Girls Can Wear Dinosaurs!

RRRRRRRRROAR!!!!!!!

Saturday Leah and I headed to Marshalls to pick up some new footed PJs.... They had some adorable kitten and cupcake PJs for 8.00.... or Dinosaurs for 5.00! We've had enough kittens and cakes, we chose the Dinos! Who said girls can't wear Dinosaurs?! I think Leah looks pretty darn cute in them!

Tidbits

I took a ME day yesterday... stayed home, layed on the couch, played on the computer, cleaned a little, caught up on studying.... just felt like my old self again. It was the first day alone since the morning Leah was born! It was AMAZING! I need those days more often! My boss even gave me the OK to take them whenever I want! ... but they are unpaid.... being out of vacation days stinks!

When I picked Leah up from daycare yesterday at 3:00 (early) she was outside playing on the playground! I almost felt bad taking here away. We headed to the park.

While picking her up one of her teachers said "Her mom sent baby food this morning, I saw it was still in her bag." I replied with "I am her mom!" I have no idea who she thought I was! I guess I look alot different in my sweats than my work clothes! She was embarassed... I was shocked!

Today was Leah's last day in the infant - angelfish room! Monday she starts off in the Starfish room. No more highchairs, hello real table and chairs!!! No more play as she pleases... hello organized circle time, story time, and playground time! I cant wait to get her activity sheet on Monday!

My 10 month old (tomorrow) came home with a fundraiser today!!! Brian responded with "Me working and paying her tuition is their fundraiser!" Anyone want to buy some wrapping paper or chocolate!?

8 weeks till Leah's birthday party! OOOOOMMMMMGGGGGGGG!!!

My first neice is due in 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited to see her and hold her! I already have baby fever again!

We need a new kitchen trashcan. Our kitchen is horribly too small with no where to really hide it... Yesterday I found Leah pulling everything out of it and playing with a banana peel! We will be trashcan shopping this weekend for one with a lid!!!!!!!

I have the best hubby ever!

Brian has been my rock this week.

I cannot remember a harder week.... and he has been there as a helping hand, an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, and the love of my life.

He has made me even more positive that he is the perfect man for me!

He sent me the greatest email ever today.....

"Relax ... at the end of the day you have a husband and daughter that love you, does the rest matter?"

He's right. I am the luckiest girl in the world as long as I have the 2 of them.

Take 3.

Remember when I mentioned starting a volleyball class.... I havent written about it yet because I havent had the chance to attend yet!

It was supposed to start last week... but I had an email the day before that the school that it will be held at was busy, and we would be pushed back at week.

Tonight I got a call, almost 2 hours before the start of class, saying that our class was cancelled yet again because our instructor is sick.

It better start next week! Third times a charm right!!?

I saw the class in an add for St. Charles Adult Education courses... it caught my eye because it said it was for "Competitive volleyball players". I am not saying I am awesome, but I really enjoy volleyball and the competitiveness is me gets really P.O.ed when I have to play with people that have no idea what they are doing and cannot keep the game going. A class full of people that claim they know how to play sounded AMAZING!

Lets name the reasons why I am looking forward to this class:

1. I need to get some activity in me! At first I was a little hesitant to sign up for it because of its 8-10PM time slot... remember my daily routine!? That is BED TIME! But then I talked to my wise, old mother and she pointed out that maybe I am so tired because I am not getting any exercise! Duh! I can suck it up once a week, and drink lots of coffee on Thursdays!

2. I am not sure if this "class" will just consist of people playing games continually, or more old school practice like were we perfect our skills. I secertly love practice! I always have! Especially volleyball practice. I love king of the court, practice spiking, blocking practice... I prefer it over a game any day.

3. I am more stressed right now than I have ever been in my life!!! I need to get some aggression out, enjoy some ME time where I do not have to think about anything, and have a little fun.

4. My sister is taking the class with me! I once wrote about (I am too lazy to go back and link it) how excited I am for my sister to graduate high school and for us to build our relationship. This is the perfect opportunity... plus I wont have to go to the first class, nervous to make friends! My sister and I will be the ones giggling in the corner!

So hopefully next Thursday I will get to write about how awesomly sore I am from my class!! Cannot wait!

Grown Up Decisions

I am never a good decision maker. Give me multiple options and I need to mull things over... I stress out.

Even going to a new restaruant can be a hard decision for me... it takes forever for me to decide what to order!

Throw in a life changing, world altering, dream halting decision and it stresses me out even more....

I miss the days of being told what to do... I miss the days of my parents making all the decisions, a coach directing me what to do, and just not being 100% responsible.

Being a grown up is tough.

United Way 5K

Satuday, Sept 11th, my mom, sister, Leah and I took part in the United Way 5K that is held at my work. It was a nice fall morning, but the humidity was out of control.

The 4 of us! Grandma and Baby... Leah loved all the people to look at!

My mom and sister are really starting to look alike!!!!

Our stroller brigade! Marron shirts = Team Vanliner

Waving her flag!! Teach Leah her patriotism early! ...We all remember 9/11..

And we finished.... in 1 hr and 1 minute! Next year's goal is to run it.....
